Jogoya is currently having buy 1 free 1 promotion for supper period from 1st August until 28th August 2009 and some other promotions. Its my first experience to Jogoya although this is quite a popular japanese buffet restaurant since 3 years ago in Starhill. If you were to be a Jogoya VIP, you will have special priviledges to enjoy their Alaska crab, special fish, flower tea and etc as they will place a card on top of the food stating that its only for VIP members.
There were large spread of sashimi, sushi, oyster, oriental food, grill, haagen daaz ice-cream, chocolate fondue, cakes and dessert, coconut drink and also few variety of cocktail and etc.

Each table were given 3 paper clips with your table number to place your order for dish which is cooked upon order.

One of my favourite dish. You can opt for bacon wrapped with enoki mushroom, fresh scallop, crab, fish, prawn and vege and placed in the paper made steamboat.There were variety of soups to choose from to give boil to the seafood. The soup turns out to be so tasty.

The 3 small round sushi on top which served with green and yellow rice. Left bottom is the shark fin and on the right bottom is sumtin like half-boiled egg

Best Friend Wedding

18th July 2009, my best friend wedding dinner held in Ipoh, Restaurant Mun Chung. This is a very special day as our besties all gathered together to celebrate this happy day of hers. Though we suppose to attend her wedding dinner in Singapore on 28 June 2009 but then she decided to have another dinner held in Ipoh, where more friends can attend this memorable day of hers. Lucky to say i missed the Great Singapore Sales, and to accumulate more bullets for my upcoming trip.

Only manage to take the starters of the dinner. There's even green agar-agar at the bottom of the food..Yummy..

Sometime ago, went back to my hometown in Ipoh and visited this korean restaurant. My mum recommend this korean restaurant as she visited it before. The atmosphere in the restaurant is not smoky at all though bbq were served right in the restaurant. There were like most korean restaurant where you can choose to be seated at dining table or elevated floor which you need to take off your shoes and seat on the thick cushion.

As usual, every korean style meal will be served with free refilling side dishes.
One of the side dish served were blood cockles.
We ordered the barlea tea, RM3 for such a big jug.
Staff in the restaurant help us to grill the meat that we ordered. The set come with onions, and enoki mushroom.

Served with varieties of refillable vegetable to consume with the meat. You can use the vegetable to wrap in the bbq meat and added with sauce, garlic, onion & enoki mushroom, whichever that suits to ur liking. Korean rice cake , it is kinda chewy

Redang Trip (22 - 24 March 2009)

My first Redang trip was to stay in Redang Reef Resort. Being told that we were the only 2 visitors for the day.. Haha.. More privacy or more lonely..
Late at night on 21st March, catch the latest bus (10:30pm) to reach Kuala Terengganu next day in the early morning. Around 6 a.m., receive call from Redang reef driver to fetch us to take a rest in their office in K.T. He is so nice to offer to bring us breakfast at 7a.m. then only to take ferry at 8 a.m. as the ferry service only starts at 9.30am to redang reef.

Snorkelling trip in Marine Park.

After back from snorkelling trip, its time for tea time.They serve us fresh fried curry puff. Still hot and crunchy though we went back quite late. Well, since we are the only guests for the day, we do not need to hurry back for any meals as food were prepared and reserved on table. Though our package is stated meals served as buffet style but since there's no other visitors there today. Meals were served as ala-carte style..

Do you like to eat soya pudding? There's a shop selling chilled soya pudding in Pragin Mall, Penang. I have tried once in some time ago, and i have revisit this place. This time, i found that they have a new item, there is Bear Bear jelly as on option to be added on your chilled soya pudding. There were about 8 different flavour of soya to choose from, original taste, cocoa, black sesame, almond, carrot, sweet corn, pandan and coffee. For the sugar syrup, you can opt for brown sugar, cane sugar and jasmine tea sugar. For topping, there were choices of Bear Bear jelly, gingko seed, pineapple, peach, rambutan, longan, jack fruit, pearl ball, Nata De Coco and etc. They were varies of package where you can mix the toppings and they name it as Gingko Seed series, Pineapple Series, Peach series and etc. This time, i choose for the Bear Bear Jelly + Pearl Ball series which costs Rm 4.50. I have opt for almond flavour soya pudding with cane sugar.

Its time to change a new refridgerator in my hometown. And only by then, i made up my mind to throw this long-kept sweets of mine. There were either bear icon or wrapped by bear plastic wrapper. Thats not really much of it, only 4 but i only have 3 picture of it as the 4th one already melted in the wrapper. When i mention long-kept, how long would you think i have been keeping these sweets. I kept those since 1999..haha..The sweets were actually brought back from Japan and kept inside a very cute small-size bear zipped bag before i remove them and placed into my fridge.

HK trip 4th day (27th Sept 2008)

In Hk for few days but have never try on the dimsum. Today's schedule is to go Central for the famous dimsum shop - Lin Heung Lou. Went to Tsim Tsa Tsui and take Tsim Tsa Tsui Ferry Pier to Central. Before that, went to Avenue of Stars.

After Avenue of Stars, took Central Pier to reach Central for Lin Heung Lao.

After some walking distance , reach Lin Heung Lou. Have a look at the dimsum served there, they came in quite bigger servings than the normal dimsum we have in Malaysia.

After Madame Tussauds, went up to the peak. The night view of HK is really awesome, reminds me of all those years of TVB drama scene, its really windy up there and my compact camera cant be able to take good picture of the view. Furthermore, i am running out of battery.

My flight back to Malaysia is in the morning, cant manage to go anymore visits. I wish that i can revisit to HK, its really lack of time as there is really limited time to go for shopping and eateries. Looking forward to my next visit..

HK trip 3rd day (26th Sept 2008)

Early morning, took MTR to Tung Chung line and take Ngong Ping 360 (HKD88 return trip) to reach Lantau Island. Once you cum down from the cable car, you will pass by Ngong Ping village before you reach the Big Buddha. There were souvenir shops, Starbucks and etc.

After walking under the sun for some distance, reach the bottom of the Big Buddha. There were ticket counter at the entrance, the purpose is to get entry to a small museum & to get a view of "SEH LEI JI" when you climb up to the platform of the Big Buddha.

HK trip 2nd day (25th Sept 2008)

Today's schedule is to go HK disneyland. I often heard that HK Disneyland is such a small place where you can easily spend less than a day there. Since many people giving the same statement, I put Wong Tai Sin into my schedule before visiting HK Disneyland. The MTR station to reach Wong Tai Sin is named after it. This is so easy and convenient.

Next stop is to HK Disneyland. I have bought the ticket earlier in Dragon Hostel which i stayed in as they offer a slightly cheaper price, HKD 285 (normal price KD 295). HK Disneyland will start their Halloween season tomorrow where you can have more Haunted Experience like Demon Jungle and Adventureland Haunted Trail and etc. Although i read about it from their website that this event will only start from September 26 til November 1st, but still i want to go on the 25th September. Why? Because it is my birthday. I get to know that u can go to the City Hall and show them your passport or proof of birthday on that day, they will give you a birthday pin. Whats the use of it?U can wear the pin and whenever the disney character and staff spot u, they will great you Happy Birthday and even take picture with you and sing you birthday song. That's just so great. Never have so many people greated me in birthday before.

It's a Small World, a new attraction of HK Disneyland. There's a river like path where u were being seated on a boat and pass through all the cute dolls wearing different costumes which represent each of their countries.

Although Halloween season will only start tomorrow, they are having the Halloween parade starting today.

After the Halloween parade, its time to wait for the fireworks. But cant manage to take any of the fireworks photo, as my camera is out of battery.

HK trip - 1st day (24 sept 2008)

This year on my birthday, I went for a HK trip. My whole journey takes 5 days and 4 nights, starting from Sept 24 til Sept 28. Boarding Air Asia flight directly to HKIA & back to LCCT. Lucky to say that throughout my journey there were only few short rainy sessions and all the time it is sunny day. Why i say so? As i have checked the weather forecast for the whole week and its showing rainy days and thunderstorms occured during the whole trip. On the day before my departure, Typhoon Hagupit hurtled towards the southern Chinese city and all flights departing and arriving HK airport have been cancelled. I rang up the air asia hotline and were told that my morning flight have not been cancelled yet and were told to wait at the airport til further notice. When the time comes by, there were no notice or announcement of the flight delayed or cancelled and the flight came on time and reach HK within 4 hours.

Throughout my journey, I manage to go HK Disneyland, Lantau Island for the Big Buddha, Golden Bauhinia Square, Madame Tussauds, Happy Valley Racecourse, Avenue of Stars, Wong Tai Sin temple and etc. 5 days is definitely not enough to visit HK as there were many tourist attractions, shopping places & night markets. But HK is definitely a very convenient place to walk around as the MTR were connected to different lines where you do not need to get out from one spot to other to exchange lines. Their bus system is very on time and very organize as there were different stands for each bus routes. Throughout my itinery, I have missed the Symphony of Lights which is a show held 8pm everynight which have a combination of interactive lights of 44 key buildings on both Hong Kong Island and Kowloon with musical effects to showcase the vibrancy and glamorous night vista of Victoria Harbour.

Always pass by this corner side cafe, they have a very nice comfy red coloured cushion-seating by the side. This can be a really nice place to have tea-break or lunch after long day of shopping.

Checking out their menu, they do have sets which include the main meal, one drink, and dessert.

I have choose the Honey BBQ chicken burger set. Include one cold drink (Tropical punch) & a hot dessert (Tong Yuen in Almond soup), priced at RM17.80.

Honey BBQ Chicken Burger..The BBQ chicken is really yummy.. Honey sweet and goes well the mayonoise.Somewhat taste like those honey bbq sold in the chicken rice shop. (Guess its using the same ingredient with the ones sold in the chicken rice shop as they are under one company)

There were also chips and salsa sauce aside.

Finally, a bowl of Tong Yuen in Almond soup. This is the first thing which drools me to this cafe. U can choose either both black sesame or peanut fillings or one each.

I have make another order of Mango pancake, they came in a plate of 3, Rm5.90.
There were a chunk of mango inside the cream-filling.Not too sweet which suit my likings.

In the meantime, u can get a sweet chat loyalty card in the first RM20 purchase. Continously RM10 for 1 stamp, after collect for 3 stamps, you can exchange for a large bowl of sweet hot dessert, 6 stamps for 2 cold dessert, 9 stamps for one meal and a drink.

A Little Dim Sum Place, SS2

Went to this restaurant on a Saturday for a breakfast. They are having All You Can Eat for Rm22.80 per person, not included drinks. This is only applicable on every Saturday, Sunday and public holiday, 9 am til 2.30 pm. And the food are limited to 30 choices.

After check out the menu, saw that one of my favourite dimsum is included in the menu so i give it a go.

Here it is, my favourite one--Avacado wrap. Look at the avacado butter fillings.Its so yummy.The outer part is wrap with the fried bihun like crunchy stuff. Sweet & crunchy..

Follow on is egg tart. They came in bite size. But the egg fillings were so creamy.Never get enough of this.

Carry on with the scallop dumpling. I selected 2 orders for the first go. U can clearly see the big juicy prawns but the scallop is quite a small piece one. This is still a very nice dimsum.

Sharkfin dumpling. Im not sure if there is any sharkfin inside but it does taste good and meaty too.

I have ordered a porridge with century egg and pork. Well, this is not really a good one. It tastes like the white porridge were boiled separately where the fillings were only added later on.

Coming on is the glutinous rice with chicken and mushroom. Not really oily for this one. Not bad.

This is a plate of steamed spareribs. Fresh and juicy. The soup gravy is so yummy.

Deep fried prawns with mayonnaise. It goes well with the mayonnaise.

Shrimp Cage. There were tiny cheese together with prawns in the fillings. But could hardly taste the cheese. Probably the mayonnaise cover it taste when taken with it.

Fried dumpling. A meaty one. Goes well with the ginger vinegar. Already too full to actually taste it.

We ordered 2 headcount of jasmine tea. Total bill came in RM51.25 for two. Is it a worth-go.?U decide it. It depends if you are or not a big eater or a big dimsum lover..

What does attracts me is that there will be musical celebration of the family where the Mamma mia song which is popularized by ABBA can be heard. There will be dancing and singing throughout the movie, this reminds me about my all time favourite " The Sound Of Music ", where the family gather together to sing and dance.

I guess the highlight of the movie is when the daughter sends out three wedding invitations to three of her potential-being father without telling her mum. She believing that after spending time with them, she will found out who is her real father.

I guess that PIERCE BROSNAN shall be her real father.

On a Saturday morning, MY FM and CiB Net Station have an event in Centro Mall, Klang. MY FM launch their 500th Pop songs chart while CiB Net Station sets a booth for the public to play their new release game .

There will be few artists who will attend this event which is 龚柯允 Karen Kong, 黄威尔 William Ng, 曾国辉 Tate Chan , Heng & Frankie 滿江汯etc. but my main purpose is to support my buddy's favourite artists Karen Kong.Wherever she goes, 'someone' will just always be there.

In the event, you will get your chance to grab 2 tickets each for the upcoming MY FM 10th Anniversary on the 9th August 2008 in Genting Highlands. Since i will not be free that day, i did not get it for myself, giving more chances to the participant.

I do not stay til the event ends. After taken few pictures with the artists, we head for the Klang Bak Kut Teh.

Aun Kheng Lim Ipoh Salted Chicken

I went back to my hometown a week ago as one my favourite TVB artist is coming over to Ipoh to promote a TVB drama.

When i reach home, there is a pack of the all time famous Ipoh Salted Chicken from Aun Kheng Lim.
Without hesitating, i unwrapped the package and microwave the salted chicken. After 2 minutes, the whole kitchen is filled with the 'Dong Gui' aroma. The herbal aroma is just so tempting.I started to tear out all the parts and behave like a barbarian.Oops, but a slightly tidy barbarian.

Just have a look at the chicken after being torn out by me..So neatly finish although this is my first time to separate out all the parts..There were pieces of Dong Gui herbal contain. Another method to fully utilize the chicken, u can tear out the chicken meat into slices together or just the chicken bone to boil up a very tasty herbal flavour chicken porridge.If you have any chances to purchase one of this chicken, you shall try out this recipe.Its really yummy.

The price of the chicken--Not sure. Few years back, should be RM15 each.

Ajisen Ramen ( One Utama)

On my off day, I went to One Utama to spare my time. After purchase Get Smart from GSC, i headed to Ajisen Ramen for a dinner. This is the 2nd time i step in to this shop but still my first time trying the food. WHY? Because the shop is too crowded when it first open and im not pretty enough to get attention of the waiters to order my food and walk out from there. But i never give up, after nearly one year, i try my luck again when there were less than quarter of the seats were being taken. Tadaa... Successful this time.

The restaurant atmosphere is quite nice where the lights are soft lighting and there were sections which have tatami mats.

I have order myself Gyoza Ramen, price at RM12.50. The Ramen is serve with milky soup base, 3 pieces of Gyoza, 1/2 piece of boil egg , bean sprouts & seaweed. The Ramen is the thinny ones, some what like the angel hair spaghetti noodles.

You can add chilli oil, chili spices and shallot flakes to your dish to enhance the taste. Truly speaking, the ramen seems tasteless without adding these.

After adding the spices and chilli oil, turns out to this.

This is another set of Mix grill with salmon, chicken slice, beef slice and tauhu. The sets comes with a bowl of white rice and miso soup. Priced at RM18.90.
Here's a closer picture of the dish. The beef and chicken slice is tasty with its marinated sauce. But the salmon seems a bit too dry.

If you were to ask me for 3rd time to step in to this shop..I really do need think for triple time (not twice). The shop gives me a bad experience as i seldom gets additional stuff in my dish before. I have spotted a thinny hair in my Ramen at first, thinking that its just a thinny one. It's ok. In my 2nd attempt, oh my god. There's another longer one. No No No. But the staff were helpful enough to change me another new one in speed. Sorry to say no picture taken.

Kocha Taiwanese Delight

Continue to blog about my Penang Trip.
I went to this Taiwanese style restaurant which claimed to have the traditional taste of Taiwanese food for a lunch.

Browsing through their menu, found out they are serving set lunch which include main dish, vegetables , soup of the day, rice , drinks , fruits & desserts.
I have order 1 set of Kimchi Pork Slice in Hot Plate for myself and another set of Stewed Pig Hind Trotter for my companion.

This is my set of Kimchi Pork Slice in hot plate. The set serves with 2 complimentary vegetables, soup of the day, rice (Ru Rou Fan = rice with pork sauce topping) and a tangerine flavour jelly dessert. The kimchi have a sweetier and less spicy taste than the Korean kimchi. It is simply delicious.

This is the set of Stewed Pig Hind Trotter. The sauce have a very equal sweet & sour taste and the meat is so tender and juicy. This is a very delicious dish and cant resists to go for another bowl of white rice to finish up the remains.

We make a selection of milk tea (so creamy as if i am drinking horlicks) and red tea with honey. Together with the set came a plate of complimentary fruits.

Penang trip

Few days ago, i went for a penang trip. These are few pictures taken in Gurney.

U shall never miss the chance to go for laksa and rojak if u were to Penang..
So here's my laksa for the day which is quite famous too..
This laksa stall previously sets their stall in Gurney Drive before they move to this location.
It is situated just opposite the Penang Chinese Girl's School, in a restaurant named Taman Emas.

The laksa is tasty but have sort of sweeter taste to the ones i usually consume.
Other than laksa, they have this fry mini popiah which is quite crunchy and yummy.

For Rojak, i have chose one of the rojak stall since i have no clue which is the famous stall among all in Gurney drive. That is the picture of the stall. For my surprise,there were slices of cuttlefish in it. There were no prawn crackers but fry "yao za gui" in it. Following is a bowl of ice-cool chendol in a near-by stall.

Not Your Average Super Hero

In the old days, this super hero is way too famous as even a 3 year old kid til 80 years old aunty & uncle would know who he is. Most of them could probably show off his trademark of action-posing. One would definitely recognised this as the well-known Wong Fei Hung in the movie title "Once Upon A Time In China". He plays the role who fought for China's rights against the Western colonial powers moving into China in the late 19th century. So here he is my super hero, Wong Fei Hung..But have anyone thought of whenever he break those benches and tables of the road side food stall, will all the hawkers praise him for his help while asking him to pay them back the damage caused..

Today is the official opening of my friend's restaurant, Entranze..Such a unique name..where there's a chinese wording 门 together with a logo which resembles "entrance"..
Any meaning for this name? Maybe it meant for the opening door of all delicious japanese cuisine as the restaurant serves fusion japanese cuisine.

There she is, the lady boss on the right and also the big tauke in the middle. Not forget to mention her father on the left.

Such beautiful design there were inside the restaurant as we were told that these photos were taken by the tauke himself (of coz together with sum help from professionals).

They serves pretty good deal for set lunch too.
I'm sorry for not posting any picture of the food as my hands and mouth were being too busy to get myself some food. Well..Best thing dont last long.
If you were to experience urself, do proceed urself to this restaurant.
P/S : This Japanese restaurant do not serve sashimi. They only served cooked and grill foods.

Karen Kong in Halo Cafe

On a Thursday night, I got a call from my buddies asking if im interested to go Halo Cafe, Sunway branch. Well, since i wont be working tonight nor tomorrow.. so why not ??
When we arrive, my other buddies have already been seated-- the front and middle seat to the stage.
I guess this is just not an ordinary outings where friends came out just for a chit-chat.
There must be someone special coming over here to perform tonight..
And i'm right..as one of my buddy is the loyal supporter of Karen Kong and he would never miss the chance to be present in each of her performance..
Actually, the main purpose she came over to Halo Cafe is to lend a hand on the Szechuan earthquake donation.Other than performing 2 song, she is so kind enough to raise an auction with her most favourite hat which she worn it in her first album. ERM...u guys must be guessing who is the lucky winner for the hat.. well...need to tell meh..who else ??
